When you outsource greenhouse construction drafting, we take over the volume your own team can no longer handle, while the engineering stays with you. Doing it yourself means every peak has to be absorbed by your existing staff, which with a tight deadline quickly leads to working evenings and weekends. Instead, we add drafting capacity from our large, variable team, which scales per project. We work fully remotely, in our own environment and with our own licences.

We follow your CAD standards, not our own approach. If a drafter falls ill, we replace them internally so the project carries on. You pay no ongoing salary costs for this. A first, shorter assignment shows whether our approach is a good fit.

Where possible, we build repeating components such as valves as a parametric Revit family, a smart component that adapts to a new size. In AutoCAD, a drafter often redraws such a component by hand every time, for example a valve in size ninety and one hundred and ten. With a smart family we place the component in the right size in a single action. The material schedule updates automatically: if the component changes, the list changes with it without manual updating.

In that kind of work, this saves at least seventy percent of the time. If an existing family library is cluttered, we assess whether cleaning it up is quicker than building a new setup. We create such a setup once and then reuse it every time. In a first conversation we map out which components lend themselves to this.

We do not quote a fixed amount, because the costs depend heavily on the volume and complexity of the project. We work on an hourly basis or at a fixed project price, decided together with you. On an hourly basis we only bill pure working time, so a short break does not count. We do not use prepaid hour bundles or monthly hour subscriptions; every assignment stands on its own.

What mainly keeps costs down is repetition: a parametric family we build once saves drafting work every time it is used again. You also pay no ongoing salary costs, as you would with a permanent in-house drafter. A short first assignment is possible with us, so we can get to know each other before agreeing on a larger project. A conversation beforehand gives the best picture of what a specific project will require.

Our permanent team of drafters carries out the greenhouse construction drafting, each with more than ten years of CAD experience. Our large, variable team scales with the project, with as many drafters as the volume requires. Sam, our team leader, has more than fifteen years of background in architecture and previously worked in Iran for seven years. He directs the technical side of the drafting and still works as an engineer as well.

Communication during an outsourced greenhouse construction project runs via email, phone and meetings, with Barry as your fixed point of contact for new questions. We set the rhythm per client, from a short check-in every two days to a weekly touchpoint, depending on the pace the project requires. On larger, longer-running projects we use software you log in to so you can follow our progress. For standalone drafting we send files back and forth by email.

Where it is more practical, we come to you or you visit our office. After each partial delivery we gather your feedback and process it before moving on to the next part. That way you stay connected without us needing daily contact. A first conversation determines which rhythm suits the project.

Yes, your own CAD standards remain leading with us throughout the project. We follow the layer structure, layer names and drawing conventions you provide at the start of the project. That prevents anyone from having to convert drawings afterwards before they fit into your own project folder. We usually also receive existing drawings at the first conversation to serve as a starting point.

If that existing set is no longer consistent, we straighten it out in consultation before we start on the new work. We deliver in stages, so any deviations from the standard stand out early in the project. File formats such as DXF, DWG, Revit formats and STEP match what you already use. A conversation beforehand records the standard once for the rest of the project.

We first review a cluttered Revit family file before choosing between cleaning it up or rebuilding it. If the existing set can still reasonably be organised, we clean it up and add new components. If the set has drifted too far from a workable structure, rebuilding is often quicker than fixing everything manually. A parametric family adapts to a new size or situation, so our drafters do not have to redraw a component every time.
